Certificates of Judgment (1935-1950)

These records show the plaintiff, defendant, date and amount of judgment in a case where a creditor seeks redress through the placement of a judgment on and against the personal or real estate property of the debtor either through such mechanisms as a garnishment, lien, or execution against the debtor’s property.  These types of records were first instituted in 1935 and served as a substitute and later replacement for execution and lien actions under the jurisdiction of a justice of the peace.
